Attention all bands, its that time of year again...Battle of the Bands! Get your group to the studio and start recording because it's time to get in all submissions. Each band must submit three songs on a cd with the lyrics included. One of your songs must be an original. All submissions must be turned in to the office marked B.O.B. by Friday February 4th.

BEHS: Freshman Registration Lunch Meeting 1-12-11
Freshman, during the last 18 minutes of your lunch hour on Wednesday, you will be dismissed to the Blackbox theater for a meeting regarding registration for next year. The purpose of the meeting is to hand out registration materials and provide a brief overview of the registration process for the 2011-12 school year. Sophomores will meet on Thursday and Juniors will meet on Friday.

Congratulations to the junior girls who participated in the Junior Miss programs this weekend. In the Brookfield program, Nora Collins earned scholarship awards for Talent and Interview. In the Elm Grove program, Hannah Hewitt won the Interview award. Hayley Powers earned scholarships for Self Expression and Scholastics and was named 1st alternate. Sarah Creegan earned scholarships for Talent and Fitness and was named the first Distinguished Young Woman of Elm Grove. Way to go, ladies!

The Brookfield and Elm Grove Junior Miss Scholarship programs will be held this Saturday at 7:00 pm at Wisconsin Hills Middle School. Tickets are $8 presale and $9 at the door. See Mrs. Linnihan for tickets. This year two girls will be selected to represent the two cities at the state program.

Brookfield Lacrosse Association is sponsoring two FREE clinics on Wednesday, Jan. 5th and Thursday, Jan. 6th, at the Brookfield Indoor Soccer Complex. The clinics run from 3:30pm-5:00pm each day. There will be representatives from Brookfield Lacrosse to provide information about our youth and high school programs, along with coaches to introduce the very basics of the fastest growing sport in the U.S.! Information will be provided about future clinics and up-coming Brookfield lacrosse events.

 

There are still a few days to get in your reservation form for the BEHS PTO Mother/Son Dinner and Comedy Show, on Sunday, January 9. It will be held at Giggles Comedy Club, 19115 Capitol Dr. Pictures at 6:00, Dinner at 6:30 and the Comedy Show at 7:30. More information and reservation forms can be picked up and dropped off in the BEHS office. Last day to return forms is Friday, Jan. 7. Join us for a great evening of socializing and laughter!

Attention all you actors and technicians: here comes the announcement of the Spring Play: it is the hilarious, comedy The Foreigner. There are parts for 2 girls and 5 guys. Scripts can be previewed in Miss Aeppler's office. Try-outs aren't until the 2nd week in February, so there's plenty of time to stop in and peruse the script. See Miss Aeppler for questions.

 

The varsity basketball program will be selling t-shirts during the lunch hours, beginning this Wednesday until Friday of this week. The white t-shirts have the Spartan logo and says BEAT BC! T-shirts will go on sale for 7 dollars. Buy a t-shirt to wear to the WHITE OUT game this Friday at Brookfield Central. Come support both the boys and girls basketball teams.

 

Start off the new year with a resolution of relaxation. Join Club Lotus this Thursday morning at 7 am in room 192 for a positive half hour filled with stress-relief, peace, quiet, and a fantastic work out. Do something good for yourself in 2011... give yoga a try!

Congratulations to Peter Horner, Andrew Raymonds, Evan Griffin, Chris Haeberle and Conner Hansen who were selected to the 2010-11 3rd Annual Community Now Senior Soccer All Star Team. The exhibition game will be held on January 22 at the US Cellular Arena.

The window for choosing exam exemptions is Dec. 13 through Dec. 17.  Students must log on to Infinite Campus to choose the course that they plan to exempt if they are eligible at the end of the semester.  If a student does not choose a course during this window, he/she will lose the option of exempting an exam for the first semester.

Donate money or supplies needed at the center such as toiletries and hair care products and receive a yummy baked holiday treat!!

Make your morning full of happiness and smiles by purchasing Hot Chocolate and Coffee outside the Cafeteria! NHS will be selling these heartwarming goodies December 15th through the 17th and the 20th up to the 22nd! It is 75 cents per cup, and for a winter freezer special, only 50 cents when you bring your own mug! Come help up raise money for flood relief in Pakistan.

The Brookfield Stars hockey team has a big home game this Saturday night, December 18: they are playing Kenosha at the Ponds. The Varsity game is at 7; JV game is at 9. Besides some great hockey, there are all kinds of things going on that night. A local student band, Chasing Departure, will be there to entertain us before, during and after the game. There will also be an elf giving away free candy. And to get into that Christmas spirit it is a red out. To make it even more red we want everyone to wear their Santa hats, too. Don't miss the fun! The Brookfield Stars Hockey Team has two games this weekend. On Friday night they play defending state champions- University School at U Schools home ice in River Hills. The JV team plays at 5pm and the Varsity game is at 7 pm. On Saturday the Stars are AWAY and playing FDL Springs at 7:15 pm at the Blue Line Arena. Hope to see you there!!!

 

Turnabout tickets are being sold this week during lunch. The dance is Saturday from 8:30-11 in the cafeteria. Tickets are $12 for an individual, $20 for a couple, $8 for a t-shirt or $30 for a couple and 2 shirts.

Class rings will be distributed this upcoming Monday, December 13th, during the lunch hours, outside the cafeteria. Please remember to bring any remaining balance due in order to pick up your ring.

 

Help keep kids warm at Children's Hospital by purchasing sugar cookies. All proceeds go toward Making Blankets. Bring your $$ Monday the 13th & Tuesday the 14th next week.

 

Attentions all who are interested in running Girls Track: A sign up meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 15th, at 3:30pm in room 166. The meeting will last about ten minutes. Please bring a pen. If you have any questions please see Coach Foss, Katie Tolan, Tori Felker, or Jenna Hatab. See you there!

 

The Brookfield Stars Hockey Team has two games this weekend. On Friday night they play defending state champions- University School at U Schools home ice in River Hills.
